Billie Pettis

Billie Pettis

Billie Pettis serves as the company’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) manager responsible for developing and leading all HSE programs to support safe, compliant, and reliable operations.

 

Mr. Pettis has 32 years of experience in the refining industry with extensive expertise in developing and implementing solutions that improve unit operations and safety while ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and standards. He started his career with BP in 1991 and spent 16 years serving in operations roles such as Outside Operator, Console Operator, and Shift Supervisor. In 2007, Mr. Pettis was promoted to Refinery Training Supervisor & Process Safety Change Coordinator at BP’s Texas City Refinery where he was responsible for the design, development, and implementation of operations technical training and process safety support. He then spent the next three years serving in various training roles for companies such as Air Liquide, Kaneka North America, and BP Chemicals. In 2015, Mr. Pettis joined Chesapeake Energy as its Regional HSE and Process Safety Supervisor, where he managed all local, federal, and company HSE programs and policies, and served in this role until March 2021 when he joined Allegiance Refining.

 

Mr. Pettis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from American Intercontinental University and a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health/Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University. He is a Certified Safety Professional, Safety Management Specialist, and Safety Trained Supervisor from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
